2019 has been a great year for Palmetto Animal Clinic and as we look forward to this New Year 2020, we have some wonderful news.

As our valued clients, it is important that we keep you up to date with the current happenings at Palmetto Animal Clinic.

We are excited to introduce you to our new Veterinarian: Dr. Chelsea Hawkins. She earned a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in French from Colorado State University before attending and graduating from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. While at UF, she also obtained her Certificate of Aquatic Animal Medicine. After veterinary school, Dr. Hawkins moved to the Bradenton -- Sarasota area with her husband and has been practicing here ever since. She enjoys spending time with her fur babies, Mojo (Exotic Shorthair grumpy cat--in the above picture), Captain (Golden Retriever/Dachshund mix), and Lucy (sassy Calico kitty). She also enjoys kayaking, inshore fishing, gardening/landscaping, and crafting. In addition to her fur children, she has 3 pet geckos and a 125-gallon reef tank. Dr. Hawkins will even see fish patients if needed! During her vacation time, Dr. Hawkins loves the beach and going SCUBA diving.

Please join us in extending a heartfelt welcome to Dr. Hawkins as she begins her journey with us at Palmetto Animal Clinic.

Meet the new Chief of Staff and Owner

Dr. Lucas McClain

It is with both great happiness and sadness that Palmetto Animal Clinic is announcing that after over 30 years of service, Dr. Jack Beal is stepping down as Chief of Staff and Owner of Palmetto Animal Clinic. Veterinary medicine has been Dr. Beal’s passion and he has been providing our community with the highest quality veterinary services since his graduation from the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1982. Dr. Beal’s Legacy is evident in the admiration he receives from those who work with him and the love he receives from his clients and patients. Dr. Beal will NOT be leaving us but will, over the next few months, be reducing his schedule so that he may pursue his other great passions. Primarily, his growing family and travel.

Palmetto Animal Clinic has always taken pride in being a privately owned and operated clinic and we are very happy to continue that tradition as our new Chief of Staff and Owner, Dr. Lucas McClain, takes over. Dr. McClain has been a welcome addition to our Doctor team and shares Dr. Beal’s vision and passion for veterinary medicine. We will continue our ongoing mission to improve ourselves and provide services of the highest quality to meet the needs of our clients and patients. As always Palmetto Animal Clinic’s commitment is to our patients and we look to continue to serve our community for years to come.

A special thanks to Dr. Beal for his years of commitment and we wish you nothing but happiness, love, and enjoyment with all your new endeavors.
